Brian James Griffith
A musician and visual artist living in Los Angeles. His work blends analog with digital; subtle movements with bold features; and virtual with physical reality.

Musically, Brian creates evolving atmospheres that often explore the sonic capabilities of the bass guitar extending it well beyond the lower register, as an effort towards singularity between the mind and instrument.

His visual art compliments the meditative qualities of his music by creating synthesized video environments and hypnotic animations that encourage mindful investigation.

The spontaneous nature of his process attempts to connect fully to the invisible fabric of reality.

Screaming Claws




Screaming Claws was started as a Net Label with Natalie Chami, Nicholas Davis and Steffi Neuhuber. In 2013, we released a new track every week while also looking for collaborators to work with. It is largely a project designed to help other like-minded people stay in touch and work together. We coined the phrase "Delayed Improvisaion" regarding a technique of improvising a recording, sending it to another musician who improvises a recording while listening to the previous recording and so on. This can include as many people, or as few people, as one would like, though 3 is a pretty good number.

Not Yet, But Forever
Screaming Claws Collective

This album was created as part of the RPM Challenge, which asks musicians to create an album inside of a month. This album was created in February 2013 and is cross-continental. The way that happened is: each of the members recorded their own improvisational session, then they sent it to the next person in line. That person improvised and recorded to and overtop of the previous recording, then sent it off. The final person then did the same. In the end, we have three tracks, but one unifying vision.
